Days Eggs & Tony & Mark’s: Supporting EB Research with Light River Eggs
Light River eggs: a little purchase that helps make a difference
Last updated: 27 October 2026
Your weekly grocery shop can help support an important cause. Days Eggs and Tony & Mark’s are joining together for a Light River eggs promotion that raises funds for research into Epidermolysis Bullosa, commonly known as EB.
From 26 October to 1 November 2026, Tony & Mark’s, together with Days Eggs, will donate $1 from every Light River 700g egg carton purchased at participating Tony & Mark’s stores to support EB research.
By choosing a carton during the promotion, you can help contribute to research working towards better treatments and, ultimately, a cure.
Understanding EB and why research matters
EB is a rare genetic condition that makes skin extremely fragile. Even minor friction can cause painful blistering and wounds, making everyday activities difficult for people living with the condition.
Children with EB are sometimes called “butterfly children” because their skin can be as delicate as a butterfly’s wings. For families, daily life can involve extensive wound care and careful management of activities many of us take for granted.
Raising awareness helps more people understand these challenges. Raising funds helps researchers continue the work needed to improve treatment options.
Supporting the search for better treatments and a cure
EB Research Partnership Australia raises funds for scientific and medical research focused on treating and ultimately curing EB.
The Australian organisation began as EB Research Foundation in 2016, founded by families affected by EB and their friends. In 2020, it joined forces with the international EB Research Partnership to pursue their shared goals.
Its approach includes funding promising research and reinvesting financial returns from successful projects into further research. This is designed to help donations support ongoing scientific progress.
For shoppers, this promotion offers a straightforward way to contribute to that work through an everyday purchase.

Tony & Mark’s: connecting food and community
Tony & Mark’s community involvement extends beyond the products on its shelves.
Through its partnership with the Childhood Cancer Association, the business is helping provide practical support for South Australian families facing childhood cancer. The partnership includes grocery discounts for families with a child undergoing treatment, alongside opportunities for customers and suppliers to contribute through fundraising initiatives.
Its Corporate with Purpose initiative also connects corporate catering and gifting purchases with charitable giving, including support for the HAS Foundation.
The Light River promotion brings that community spirit into the weekly shop, giving customers another accessible way to get involved.
Days Eggs: local roots, shared support
Days Eggs has been part of South Australia’s food industry since 1987. From modest beginnings in a small garage, the business has grown to supply eggs to customers across the state.
Our connection with the community starts with producing food that people bring into their homes every day. This promotion gives us an opportunity to extend that connection by working with Tony & Mark’s and our customers to support an important cause.
We’re pleased to be involved in an initiative that brings a local producer, retailer and shoppers together to help fund EB research.
Pick up a carton and help contribute
Taking part is simple: purchase a Light River 700g carton of 12 free-range eggs at participating Tony & Mark’s stores between 26 October and 1 November 2026.
For every eligible carton purchased, Tony & Mark’s, together with Days Eggs, will donate $1 to support EB research.
Thank you to everyone who supports the promotion. Each eligible purchase adds to the contribution.
